3 Days, 3 Games

The ICE had a busy weekend as they competed in regular season action 3 times this weekend.

First up was the Lightning. Off to a slow start, the ICE were able to capitalize on their chances and record a 6-3 win. Mclennan recorded her first goal of the season, while Yewdall (2), Tobin, Kraus and Jocelyn all found the back of the net as well.

On Saturday, the ICE took on the Hawks for the first time since October. Yewdall once again found the back of the net twice, as Medock notched the other. Shippam stood tall, recording her second shutout in a row, stopping 27 shots.

With 4 points already claimed, the ICE battled the Chiefs on Sunday for a key 2 points in the standings. The Chiefs came out flying, however it was the ICE that found the back of the net first, off a rush from Barclay. Barclay would add another before the end of the third, as the Chiefs found themselves with 2 as well. With third place on the line, both teams were headed to OT. Exchanging chances both ways, OT solved nothing and the teams went to a shootout. Garofalo would score in the shootout, but it was the Chiefs that edged it out, beating the ICE in the fourth round. Baker would end the night with an impressive 50 saves, helping the ICE get a crucial point in the standings.

And just like that, the ICE close out the regular season with two games remaining vs Pembina Valley on Feb 9th & 10th.
