ICE Sweep Weekend

 

After a dissapointing loss to the Avros, the ICE were looking for redemption, and more importantly, points in the standings. 

 

The ICE started with their last big roadtrip of the season, travelling out together to Shoal Lake to take on the Chiefs.  

 

With a steady pace to the game, M.Barclay found the back of the net on a rebound, after K.Christensen fired a shot from the point.

 

Heading into the second period with a 1-0 lead, K.Tobin took over, netting her first career hat-trick, all in a single period, to help the ICE take a comanding 4-1 lead to head into the third.

 

The Chiefs continued to pressure hard but E.Shippam stood tall, turning away a total of 40 shots, to secure the 4-1 win for the ICE.

The ICE were back in action at home the next day to take on the Capitals, for a chance to steal another 2 points. 

 

M.Barclay once again found the back of the net first, beating the netminder off a feed from M.Medock and K.Kraus. 

 

The flood gates opened and the goals didn't stop as J.Bird (3), K.Tobin (2), K.Kraus (2) and  E.Coleman all found the back of the net, to help the ICE take a commanding 9-3 win over the Capitals.

 

J.Bird recorded her 2nd hat-trick of the week while K.Stewart, R.Yewdall, K.Kraus and E.Coleman all recorded a 3 point night for themselves.

The ICE recorded their first weekend sweep, claiming a crucial 4 points. They are back in action this Wednesday to take on the Eastman Selects.

 

Goals, Goals, Goals 

With Julia Bird's second hat-trick, she now takes sole possesion of first, leading the entire league in goals, with a 3 goal lead over P.Hubbard (Westman). 

Katrina Tobin continues to light the lamp, notching 5 goals in the last 2 games, and 8 points in the last 4 games. 

With the win over the capitals, Katie Kraus recorded her first multi-goal game of the season.
