Female AAA Midget Challenge

 

The ICE battled in the Girls' Hockey United Showcase on the December 7th weekend, finishing in second place. 

 

The first game of the showcase saw the ICE battle Weyburn for the second time this season. The ICE got the early lead and didn't let up, winning 6-1 with goals coming from Barclay(2), Tobin, Yewdall, and Garofalo. Shippam finished the night with .944 save percentage, stopping 17 shots. 

 

On day 2, the ICE battled pilot Mound in their first mathcup of the season. After a sluggish start, the ICE came back from a 3-0 deficit in the third, to tie the game. Goals came from Barclay, Yewdall, and Garofalo. Baker skated away with 21 saves.

 

For the second game that day, the ICE took on the Capitals, drawing ot a 1 all tie, with Kraus netting the lone goal for the ICE. Shippam posted a .947 save percentage. 

 

On the final day of the showcase, the ICE played Interlake, posting a 4-0 win. Baker earned the well dseerved shutout, stopping all 26 shots faced. Bird, Medock, Jocelyn, and Garofalo all found the back of the net.

 

Maggie Medock finished the showcase tied for 6th in Scoring.
