Ice Blank Provincial Champs

 

The Winnipeg Ice went up against the reigning MFMHL champions, Eastman Selects and registered their first win in the MFMHL.

 

After a scoreless first that saw The Ice have an edge in shots 6-5.
The Selects evened up the game shots in the second, posting 9 shots to The Ice 8, but it was The Ice that registered the only goal, and eventual game winner as Martina Barclay jumped on a loose puck and went high over the Eastman's goalie, Raygan Kirk. Assists were awarded to Liz Coleman and Brooke Oxenforth. 

 

A determined Eastman team out-shot The Ice 13-3 in the third. It was Winnipeg Ice goalie, Morgan Baker that proved to be the difference turning away all attempts, including a late power play by the Selects. Morgan earned her first shutout for the Winnipeg Ice.
